Farmapram is the brand name Mexican pharmacies have used for alprazolam for years. The active molecule is the same one in U.S. Xanax. If you’ve seen white or yellow bars stamped “FT” or “JPIERRE” on pharmacy shelves in Tijuana or Cancun, that’s what this page is about.
We sell it only with a valid prescription. We’ll explain why that line matters in a minute.
What Farmapram Actually Is
Alprazolam is a benzodiazepine. Doctors write it for generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, and the kind of situational anxiety that comes with grief, surgery recovery, or a tough new phase of life. It works on GABA receptors in the brain — benzodiazepines bind to them and let GABA do its calming work more effectively. That part is straightforward.
Farmapram is the Ifa group brand sold in Mexico. Same alprazolam molecule. Same 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, 1 mg, and 2 mg tablet strengths. The packaging and pill imprints look different from Pfizer Xanax, which is where most of the confusion starts.
Here’s the part most online sellers won’t tell you:
In 2021, the FDA published a notice saying the brand “Farmapram” was no longer authorized for sale in Mexico. Some Mexican pharmacies still have stockpiles. Others stopped carrying it altogether and moved to generic alprazolam. If you ordered “Farmapram” from a website in 2026 and got a blister pack with a Mexican address on it, you’re probably holding the same alprazolam — just not always the exact branded version. That’s the unexpected detail. The name outlived the official registration.
Available Strengths
Pharmacies that ship Farmapram or generic alprazolam typically offer four tablet strengths:
- 0.25 mg — starting dose for mild anxiety, often taken two or three times daily
- 0.5 mg — the most common maintenance dose for adults
- 1 mg — used for moderate panic symptoms or breakthrough anxiety
- 2 mg — the high end, usually split in half because a full 2 mg bar hits hard
The bars you’ve heard about are the 2 mg tablets. They’re scored into four sections. People call them “Xanax bars” or “Mexican Xanax bars” for that reason.
Your doctor sets your dose based on age, weight, liver function, and what you’re treating. Never self-adjust a benzodiazepine dose during a high-stress week. The taper schedule matters even more than the starting dose.
How Long Alprazolam Lasts
If you’ve never taken it before, the timing is what surprises people:
- Onset: 15 to 30 minutes on an empty stomach, closer to 45 to 60 minutes after a meal
- Peak effect: 1 to 2 hours after you swallow it
- Half-life: about 11 hours in a healthy adult (the FDA-approved prescribing information lists a range of 6.3 to 26.9 hours depending on age and metabolism)
- Total clearance: most of it is gone around 44 to 55 hours, but traces linger in urine longer than that
The 11-hour half-life is why doctors usually prescribe it two or three times a day instead of once. It’s also why it stacks up if you take extra doses — by dose three or four, the prior doses are still in your system. That math is the cause of most accidental overdoses we’ve seen in the literature.
Why People Search for Farmapram Online
We’re not going to pretend the math isn’t real. Three things drive almost every search:
- Cost. U.S. Xanax with insurance can run $30 to $60 for a 30-pill supply. Cash prices without insurance hit $90 or more depending on pharmacy. Mexican-sourced alprazolam has historically been cheaper, though U.S. generic alprazolam has come down as Pfizer’s exclusivity ended.
- Access. Some U.S. pharmacies won’t fill benzodiazepine refills for new patients without a 30-day in-person checkup. People who’ve been stable on the same dose for years find that frustrating.
- Familiarity. Patients who travel to San Diego, Tijuana, or Puerto Vallarta once a year get used to buying Farmapram at a local pharmacy, then look for the same product online when they get home.
We won’t judge any of those reasons. We’ll just flag the part that frequently goes wrong.
The Legal Reality in the U.S.
This is where the page gets honest.
Alprazolam is a Schedule IV controlled substance in the United States. Bringing it across the border without a prescription is technically illegal, and customs does seize shipments. The FDA has issued warning letters to websites shipping unapproved alprazolam into the U.S. — the Sorcerz.com warning letter from April 2023 is the most recent example we can name here. When we say “unapproved,” that doesn’t mean alprazolam itself is illegal. It means the specific imported versions haven’t gone through U.S. review.
Here’s the rule we operate under:
- You must have a valid U.S. or Mexican prescription from a licensed prescriber.
- We only ship to addresses that match the prescription.
- Quantity is capped at a 30- or 90-day supply depending on the prescriber’s directions.
- Controlled substance orders require a signature on delivery and go through an additional verification step.
If a website is selling you Farmapram with no prescription check, bitcoin-only payment, and “worldwide shipping” — that’s not us, and you should treat the shipment as riskier than the website suggests.
Safety Concerns We Take Seriously
Three things can go wrong with alprazolam bought online, and we want you to know about each one before you order:
- Counterfeit pills laced with fentanyl. The DEA has documented this in fake oxycodone and fake Xanax pressed in clandestine labs. A 2 mg bar bought from a random website could be a 2 mg bar of acetaminophen pressed in someone’s garage. This is the highest-cost mistake you can make.
- Wrong dose inside a real bar. Some Mexican pharmacies sell alprazolam 2 mg bars that are technically authentic but cut into four pieces at 0.5 mg each. People take a “bar” thinking it’s 2 mg and only get 0.5 mg. They double up. That’s how accidental dependencies form.
- Drug interactions. Alprazolam interacts with opioids (FDA black-box warning), alcohol, sleep aids like zolpidem, certain antifungals, and grapefruit juice. A pharmacist should review your full medication list before filling. We do. If your profile shows an opioid prescription from another pharmacy, our pharmacist will call the prescriber.
If you take any of those with alprazolam and weren’t warned, that’s a fixable problem — call us.
How We Fill Your Order
This part is short because there’s nothing fancy about it:
- Upload or send your prescription to sales@akesispharma.com.
- Our pharmacist verifies the prescriber’s DEA or Mexican Cedula number within one business day.
- We match the prescription to one of our licensed partner pharmacies in the U.S. or Mexico.
- You get an order confirmation with the exact drug, dose, quantity, and price.
- Shipping takes 3 to 7 business days inside the U.S., 7 to 14 days for international orders.
- Payments are card or bank transfer only — no cryptocurrency, no wire transfers to offshore accounts.
If anything in that chain breaks, we email you. No silent refunds, no surprise substitutions.
A Note About What We Don’t Do
We don’t sell alprazolam without a prescription. We don’t sell to anyone under 18. We don’t replace your doctor. And we don’t claim our pharmacy can solve a prescription drug shortage — sometimes a controlled substance is backordered, and we’ll tell you that honestly instead of swapping it for something we just happen to have on hand.
A few years ago, a customer called because the alprazolam we shipped looked different from her previous bottle — same dose, different manufacturer, different imprint. She panicked. We explained that generic alprazolam comes from several FDA-inspected plants and the inactive ingredients can vary. Her doctor confirmed the swap was fine. We now send a one-line note with every controlled-substance order that explains the same thing before the question comes up.
Common Questions
- Is Farmapram the exact same drug as Xanax? Yes. Same active ingredient (alprazolam), same dose strengths, same mechanism. The brand naming and pill imprint differ.
- Can you ship to PO boxes? No for controlled substances. We require a physical address and a signature on delivery.
- Do you accept insurance? Not directly. We can provide an itemized receipt you can submit for HSA or FSA reimbursement, depending on your plan.
- What if my prescription expires? A controlled substance prescription is valid for six months in most U.S. states. We won’t refill expired scripts.
- Can I return alprazolam if I change my mind? No. Federal pharmacy law prohibits returns on dispensed controlled substances, even unopened.
- Will this show up on a drug test? Yes. Alprazolam shows up on standard urine drug panels for 2 to 4 days after the last dose, longer for heavy users.
Bottom Line
Alprazolam works. It works well for anxiety, panic disorder, and short-term situational anxiety. It also has real risks — dependence, withdrawal, drug interactions, and the danger of getting a counterfeit pill from an unverified seller.
If you have a prescription and want a pharmacy that verifies it, ships within legal channels, and explains the active ingredient instead of hiding behind a brand name, you’re in the right place.
If you don’t have a prescription, talk to a doctor first. We mean that. Alprazolam withdrawal can cause seizures, and the dose titration isn’t something to guess at.
